We had a wonderful experience at the Hofdame. The shared dining with accompanying wines was simply lovely. The service was kind, well paced en relaxed. The food and wines were sometimes heavenly. For those who are familiar with the Leeuwarder dining culture, The shared dinging at the Hofdame gives you an ambitious dining experience that sometimes hints of taste that reminded us of Steef restaurant, for a price similar to Roast. If the Hofdame would swap their plastic plants for real ones, we could not fault them.

Oei zonder verwachting het werkelijk prachtige gebouw ingelopen waar de Hofdame in is gevestigd dan wordt je een beetje stil van de indrukken en de manier waarop de mooie dame eer aan is gedaan met een prachtige upgrade. Werden geplaatst bij de deur waardoor ik dacht dat wij in een draaideur mochten gaan eten maar er kwam tijdens het voorgerecht een prachtige tafel vrij aan het het raam en met een voorzichtige vraag werden wij rap daarnaartoe geplaatst daarvoor dankbaar !! Het eten was bijzonder smakelijk en miste misschien hier en daar de echte verrassing maar was gewoon echt lekker vonden de makreel echt een negatieve uitspatting maar de tartaar, risotto er het toetje met bijhorende ijswine daarintegen buitengewoon van smaak. Bij ons rees wel de vraag wordt de kaart wel vernieuwd werd ons niet echt duidelijk. Personeel is knap scherp en weet goed en duidelijk uit te leggen wat er op het bord lag, sommelier was een vermakelijke man met kennis die het goed kon verkopen. Persoonlijk vond ik het bijzonder ik lust geen rode wijn dit is was voor het eerst dat ik echt een vervangende wijn kreeg ipv een glaasje meer van de vorige wijn zoals bij andere restaurants regelmatig gebeurt waarvoor dank.
Restaurant gelegen bij de scheve toren. Keuze uit meerdere gangen diner ( waarbij de kok de gerechten bepaalt) of a la carte. Wij kozen voor dat laatste. Voorgerechten lekker, alhoewel ik bij de steak tartar liever een vers eigeel heb. Vlees heerlijk mals en begeleidt met smaakvolle saus en jus. Koffie prima, met een Friese whiskey als toetje. Druppel koffie in de whiskey gedaan ( haalt de warme smaak naar voren). Vriendelijk en enthousiast personeel met kennis over de gerechten. Qua prijs zit het restaurant aan de bovenkant maar het geleverde heeft kwaliteit.
Op een maandagavond gegeten bij de Hofdame. We hebben genoten van de 4-gangen shared dining mogelijkheid. Op de kaart staat dat het om 7 gerechten gaat, maar we hebben in plaats van 7 gerechten wel van 14 gerechten (eerste 3-gangen 4 gerechten per gang en het dessert was 2 gerechten) genoten. De porties waren groot! En omdat we met z’n drieën waren waren de porties voor 4 personen gemaakt. De gangen volgenden elkaar vlot op en we hebben niet hoeven wachten. Bij de 3de gang werden de warme gerechten koud, omdat er veel te proeven was. Leuk dat er 2 gerechten aan tafel werden bereid. De bediening was snel en vaardig. Het is een mooi pand waarin je een mix van oude en nieuwe stijl kan vinden.
We zijn hier wezen lunchen en de lunch was erg lekker. Beiden bestelden we de vegan clubsandwich als twaalf-uurtje. Personeel was vriendelijk. Enige minpuntje: als iemand specifiek om vegan vraagt, geef er dan geen roomboter bij, dit zijn de details die het ‘af’ maken. Overigens hier vorig jaar ook eens een vegan high tea gedaan, was ook erg aan te raden.
Goed ontvangen en vriendelijk geholpen. Het is hier goed binnen zitten voor lunch of borrel. Direct aan het plein bij de Oldehove.
